INTRODUCTION

The Problem Statement

The onset of the Covid-19 pandemic forced many people to transition to remote working. This meant that workers and students had to suddenly adapt to a virtual working space, often converting their personal living spaces into makeshift workspaces in the process. As the pandemic has continued for years, many issues with remote working arose regarding work-life balance, managing stress and productivity, and feelings of loneliness. The problems were directly affecting our interviewees’ daily lives. To address these issues, our team decided to build this project to meet the needs of the workers and students who struggle to maintain a healthy work-life balance. We hoped to reduce some of the negative effects of what work looks like in the midst of this pandemic.

A Solution Taking Shape

After research, ideation, and some planning, our team moved forward with the idea to assist with users' work-life balance through a mobile app. The app would include social elements that could bring people together in a motivated environment and incentivize productivity. It would also include features to help our users manage their workloads and reduce distractions. We chose a mobile app because it is easily accessible on the go and can store users' personal information better than a website. Ultimately, our group worked to create a virtual space that helps users track their daily workload, stay motivated in productive environments, and reduce both personal distractions during work time and work-related distractions during personal time.
